Who Can Enter
- Open to all currently enrolled students
- Graphic design students preferred
Design Theme and Requirements
Design a t-shirt that captures the energy of Get on Board Day (GOBD) with a tropical paradise or beach-inspired theme using the tagline “Welcome to Involvement Paradise.”
Designs must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 100% original artwork
- No copyrighted images, trademarks or unapproved logos
- Full color design for a white t-shirt
- Include “Get on Board Day” spelled out on the back of the shirt; “GOBD” may be used on the front
- Include “2026” on the front or back
- Must be appropriate and align with university standards
- No NIL or athletic references, including Big Al, Houndstooth or athletic logos (such as the Vault A with the elephant).
- T-shirt color or main graphic colors cannot be orange or purple
File Specifications
- Digital drawings or designs only
- High-resolution .PNG or .JPG submitted first round; finalists must provide the original editable design file
- Minimum 300 DPI
- Sized for standard print area (approximately 12 by 16 inches) for front pocket and back design
- Transparent background preferred
Submission and Selection Process
Submit your design through the t-shirt contest submission form by May 31 at noon.
Student Involvement will select the top three designs, then share them to let everyone else vote. The winner will be announced in early July.
Winners Receive
- The design printed on official Get on Board Day t-shirts
- Recognition across the Division of Student Life channels
- Swag bag from the Division of Student Life and GOBD vendors
Rights and Usage
By submitting, you grant The University of Alabama Division of Student Life permission to reproduce and distribute your design, including making adjustments to the artwork. Students will not be compensated for design work.
