What Is The Tailgate Token Program?
The Tailgate Token Program rewards student organizations for showing up, collaborating, and contributing to campus life. Each organization can earn Tailgate Tokens throughout the year by participating in engagement opportunities hosted or supported by Student Involvement.
Every token earned equals one entry into the Student Org. Game Day Plus Tailgate Drawing for home football games. The more tokens your organization earns and turns in, the better your odds of being selected for a reserved tailgate spot on the Quad!
All registered student organizations will still be able to request a standard tailgate spot on the Quad each game day. The Game Day Plus Tailgate opportunity is an additional benefit. Three (3) organizations per game will be selected through the Tailgate Token Drawing to receive a fully equipped Game Day Plus Tailgate, which includes a tent, table, a case of Coca-Cola/Powerade, and priority access on lawn games from the ReSOURCE Room. This upgraded experience is designed to highlight engaged student organizations and make hosting a tailgate easier than ever.
Important: All student organizations can still request a standard tailgate spot on the Quad each game day via mySOURCE. The Tailgate Token Program is an enhanced tailgate opportunity for organizations that want to take their game day experience to the next level.
How It Works
Earn Tokens.
Organizations earn tokens by taking part in verified engagement activities (see list below).
Each qualifying action = 1 or more token(s).
Turn in Tokens.
For each home football game, organizations can turn in as many tokens as they’d like before the posted deadline.
More tokens = more entries = better chances of being selected.
Win a Tailgate.
Before each home game, Student Involvement will conduct a Student Org. Game Day Plus Tailgate Drawing to determine which organizations will receive tailgate spaces for that week’s game.
Organizations may receive one tailgate spot per home game.
How to Earn Tokens
Tokens can be earned through the following engagement actions. Bonus tokens may be announced during special events or engagement campaigns.
Eligible events are listed in mySOURCE under the Events tab. You can use the “Tailgate Token” category filter to quickly find qualifying events.

Picking Up Tokens
Student organizations will receive physical Tailgate Tokens after completing eligible engagement activities.
For in-person events:
Tokens will be distributed at the event when your organization checks in or participates. Ensure that your organization’s representative completes the check-in process so participation can be verified.
For online opportunities:
Tokens can be picked up during designated Token Pick-Up Hours.
Spring 2026: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Student Involvement will have a table available for token pick-up outside of our office (Suite 3610 in The University of Alabama Student Center).
A representative must bring their Action Card to receive their earned token.
Token Pick-Up Hours may vary each semester. Updated schedules will be shared through Student Involvement communications and posted on mySOURCE.
Turning In Tokens
Once the football season schedule has been announced, all home game opportunities will be available for organizations to begin submitting their Tailgate Tokens.
How Turning In Works:
- Organizations may turn in tokens at any Token Turn-In Day during the season.
- When turning in a token, the organization will receive a drawing ticket.
- That ticket can be placed into any home game bucket—allowing organizations to strategically decide which Game Day Plus Tailgate they want to compete for.
- Organizations may distribute their tickets across multiple games or place multiple tickets into the same game bucket to increase their chances.
- Once a token has been exchanged for a drawing ticket, it is assigned to that specific game and cannot be moved or reused.
- This structure allows organizations to plan ahead, save tokens for high-interest games, or spread their chances across the full season.
Token Turn-In Days
Tokens can be turned in during designated Token Turn-In Hours (same time and location as Token Pick-Up).
Spring 2026: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Student Organization Game Day Plus Tailgate Drawing
- Drawings occur one week before each home football game.
- Results are announced via Student Involvement’s social media and email.
- Each drawing will award a three (3) Student Org. Game Day Plus Tailgates.
- The drawing may be held live or recorded for fairness and excitement.
